After leaving careful instructions for the distribution of his massive fortune, Alfred Nobel died on December 10, 1896. He is best known for the culmination of those instructions, "The Nobel Prize", awarded to those who have contributed most to the common good in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature and Peace. He also invented dynamite, gelignite, and some other really cool stuff!
